"Glee" e "Boardwalk Empire" foram as séries mais premiadas do 68º Globo de Ouro, vencendo as categorias de melhor série de comédia e melhor série dramática, respectivamente.

Produzida por Martin Scorsese, além de desbancar "Mad Men", que ganhou os últimos três anos a categoria de melhor série de drama, "Boardwalk Empire" também levou o prêmio de melhor ator, com Steve Buscemi no papel do tesoureiro Nucky Thompson.

Das cinco categorias em que concorreu, "Glee" não venceu a de melhor ator e melhor atriz de comédia, que ficaram com Jim Parsons, de "The Big Band Theory", e Laura Linney, por  "The Big C", que não pode ir ao evento receber o prêmio.
